AFTERMATH of first time professional braids!!

I had never had my hair in professional braids before. I wanted to grow my hair out for the summer & not have to perm my hair so often, so I gave it a try. I didn't get micro braids, they were a little bit bigger.

Well I had the braids for almost 6 months, including getting the braids touched up & another set put in. When it came time for a perm, (I normally do my own perms) I didn't know that I was to thoroughly COMB OUT my hair after I took the braids down. I didn't even think to ask the professional who braided my hair was there anything I needed to do differently.

When I was using the neutralizing shampoo, there was a knot in my hair that I couldn't detangle. I had to cut about 2-3 inches off in a section of 2in x 2in of my hair. It was toward the crown of my hair. Being blessed or lucky, I could cover it up with how I styled my hair. It was layered at the time and about shoulder length. I almost cried. This was minor compared to another hair incident I had!!!
