4 More Benefits of Roller Setting Hair

benefits-of-roller-setting

There were just so many benefits of roller setting that I couldn't write just one article.  Below, I've added an additional 4 more benefits of roller setting hair!

Style Options

Roller sets give more styling options than you  could ever imagine!!  You can experiment with all different types of rollers from magnetic to mesh to flexirods to spiral rods to even straws!

The process is basically the same - roll while soaking wet and dry under a hooded dryer.  In addition to giving you many curly style options, roller sets also allow for healthy straight style options, too.

Do the saran wrap method to knock out some of the curl or to straighten out your roots a bit.  Even flat ironing after roller setting is not as bad as flat ironing blow dried hair.

You can choose to flat iron your hair before or after saran wrapping or keep the curls and straighten the roots.  Flat ironing all of your hair to remove the curl is still better than blow drying because you have so much moisture left in!

Save Money

Learning to do roller sets yourself will save you a ton of money at the hair salon.

For one, you can achieve a special look using roller sets since roller sets don't have to be done perfectly or even look perfect in order to look "special."  Two, you can take care of your own hair between salon visits by not applying additional heat to your hair.

Each time you roller set, you'll be sealing in moisture to your hair - keeping your hair conditioned without the assistance of a stylist.  Also, you will always be able to have a stylish look because roller sets are just so beautiful! You just can't go wrong!  Learn more about Do-It-Yourself Hair care by clicking here.

Save Time

I know what you're thinking - "How on earth does one save time by roller setting!?  This can't possibly be one of the benefits of roller setting."

Well, think about it.  How much time does it take you to wash, condition, blow dry, flat iron, and curl your hair?  At least 2.5 hours right?

Well, once you're good at roller setting, it will probably take you about 45 minutes to set your hair.  Then sitting under a hooded dryer allows you to do many other things so that time doesn't count! You can catch up on reading, watch a movie (with closed captions!) and work on your laptop.

Finish up with your drying, remove your rollers - total 1.5 hours looking at the time it took you to wash AND you have much healthier hair.  Add on a silk wrap or flat ironing and you may add on an addition 15 to 30 minutes.

Still less than 2.5 hours and dry, broken hair all over the sink!

Treatment for Ends

Roller setting is a great way to give your ends a special treatment!

Roller setting already keeps your hair super moist.  Why not take advantage of this and give a little extra moisture where your hair needs it most - the ends!  If you're suffering from split ends, read my article here to get rid of them.

When rolling your hair add a little something to your ends just before you roll it up.  I've used oil and serum for this which benefits by sealing in the moisture. Neutrogena Shine Serum works well as does Jojoba oil.  I've also read that some people use butters like shea butter for the same purpose.

You can also add a little more leave-in conditioner or other conditioning agent.  You'll be amazed at how your ends feel like butter when you remove the rollers!

Well, there you have it. Some of the main benefits of roller setting your hair.  You just can't go wrong.  You've got styling options and healthy hair benefits all rolled into one!  The benefits of roller setting are practically endless.   Don't disregard roller sets.  Start now by looking at my article on how to roller set hair
