Bring Out The Curls!

by Harmonie
(San Francisco, CA)

My natural curly hair does this strange flat thing on the top of my head once it starts to get too long leaving the bottom part of my hair curly. Believe me, it's not cute. So when I get it cut I get layers which brings the curls out throughout my hair. At the salon when they would style my hair they would use a curl enhancing gel and gently with the fingers pick out tiny sections of my hair and twist & twirl creating each tiny and defined curl.

With a diffuser on the hairdryer on a low heat, they would hold it close to my head allowing the curls to gently sit in the diffuser. (Don't push the curls up towards the head because that causes frizz.) I always love the way my hair looks and feels after they get done with me at the salon. So I started imitating that at home and I get the same BEAUTIFUL results! I a especially LOVE the compliments I get when I take the time to bring out the curls!

I do that, too. I have to smooth out all of my spirals for my hair to look good. It's time consuming but works great.
