Candida hair loss - but first, what is candida?

Candida is like a parasite sucking all the nutrients in our body, another culprit to hair loss. Actually, Candida is some sort of yeast, like the one used for baking. It’s a big, round, whitish element that uses insects, animals and humans as their host (home) to survive.

It has the ability to transform into fungus that can cause infections and disease. It usually lives harmoniously with other microorganisms such as the good bacteria in our body. But if something upsets the bacteria, this opens the chance for the yeast to rule over all the healthy microorganisms.

Candida is an opportunist, once it enjoyed staying in “your place”, it will multiply itself giving you Candidiasis. Its favorite hang-out is usually a moist den like our mouth, throat, intestinal tract and genitals. This tenacious opportunist can bring chaos and menace in countless ways.

It can dig a hole in our intestinal tract, slide into our blood stream and all the way to any organ of our body. Once there, it may emit 70 different types of toxins causing us illnesses, maladies and syndromes.

The symptoms are prevalent in almost all of our body systems which include the neurologic, lymphatic, digestive, reproductive, urinary, respiratory, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system. These are the most frequent conditions brought about by candidiasis:

* Headache, migraine, diarrhea, constipation, acne, eczema, athlete’s foot, vaginitis, rectal itching, indigestion, abdominal gas pain, sore throat, fatigue and many others.

The most popular kinds of yeast infection are oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrust) and vaginal candidiasis. Although this can be treated with antifungal medications, stubborn yeast can be fatal for people with weak immune system.

Since Candida affects our entire body by robbing the nutrients away, it goes to say that our body may not sustain what the hair needs for its growth, health and maintenance. Thus, it results to weakening and shedding of our hair that might eventually leads to hair loss.

Lack of nutrients in our body will also make us more susceptible to skin & scalp diseases like psoriasis which is also a major cause of hair loss. As said earlier, Candida secretes toxins and toxins can damage the hair follicles because it interferes with the hormonal substances that support our hair growth.

Here are some preventive measures to stop Candida hair loss:

1. Reduce sugar intake. Yeast has a sweet tooth too. Sweets and carbohydrates is a haven for them.

2. Avoid using contraceptive pills. Any extensive use of medication makes us vulnerable to candidiasis.

3. Learn to overcome stress. Stress weakens the immune system thus making us prone to any disease.

4. Avoid taking anti-biotic if possible. Anti-biotic kills any bacteria, whether good or bad, allowing the yeast to grow and reproduce.

5. Stay away from any medication, therapy or activity that suppresses the immune system.

Candida is like a tame animal turn wild. To make it behave, do not do anything that will upset yourself emotionally and physically because you might upset her too.

Candida hair loss doesn't have to happen to you.

How to reverse Candida related hair loss?
by: Anonymous

What is you have already lost most of your hair and you are sure it is due to candida? I am now taking tons of Biotin and zinc to overcome deficiencies caused by Candida proliferation...is that enough to reverse hair loss. That is my worst symptom. SO, is it the toxins from Candida causing the hair loss or is it lack of Biotin that causes it? I have read over and over again the latter, but you have mentioned toxins cause the hair loss. Confused!
