Chi Rocket Hair Dryer Review
The Chi Rocket Hair Dryer has been one of my best purchases this year. Over the past year or so, I've been focusing on using quality hair products as well as quality hair tools on my hair. I have not been a big fan of blowdryers because in the past, I'd only end up with dry and brittle hair. However, I sometimes like the time-saving element of blow drying versus roller setting. So, I sat out on my quest to find a good blow dryer. I read around about various blow dryers as well as tons of reviews. I decided upon the Chi Rocket Hair Dryer. Here is some product information:
- 1800 Watts for more power and blowing action
- Cold Shot Button
- Infrared Light Indicator on Side
- Light and Quiet
- Ceramic Heating Element for Instant Moisturizing Heat
- Lowest Output of EMF
- Projects Millions of negative ions to break the water molecules rather than boiling them like a conventional dryer
- 50% Faster Drying Time
First Impression of Chi Rocket
When I took the Chi Rocket Hair Dryer out of its packaging, I noticed that the dryer itself is very smooth and the quality feels very expensive. It definitely looks like a professional blow dryer. I also could see that there is a removable vent on the back end. The Chi has a low and high heat setting along with a cool shot button.
The "cool" thing about the cool shot button is that you do not have to hold it down continuously. You press it once to turn it on and press
it again to turn it off.
The Chi Rocket comes with two attachments - a nozzle attachment along with a pik comb attachment. The pik comb attachment is my main reason for purchasing this blow dryer. As soon as I took it out of the box, I gave the attachments a try. I wanted to make sure they were sturdy and would not fly off as I used them. I was pleasantly surprised that these attachments were made specifically for the Chi Rocket. They take a little working to put on and a little working to get back off. I didn't think I'd have to worry at all about it flying off in the middle of me using it.
Using the Chi Rocket
I had my hair separated into four sections. Using the Chi Rocket and the pik comb attachment, I began blow drying a back section of hair. I notice that it is easier to hold the blow dryer on the dryer part instead of the handle to get better control so this is how I did it. It was surprisingly easy. The comb attachment did not fly off.
I remembered reading some reviews where people stated how hot the Chi Rocket gets. It does get hot but the thing that I liked about it is that it is a gradual hot. It starts off at a low to medium heat and gradually moves on to a hot heat.
Once I finished blow drying all four sections, I touched my hair to see if I liked how it felt - was it dry and crackly or soft and smooth. It was definitely soft and smooth! It felt moisturized instead of dry like most regular blow dryers.
Additionally, the Chi Rocket did hold up to its promise of drying my hair faster. With my hair being past bra-strap length and naturally curly, blow drying can be a task. My hair holds on to water like a sponge and its curls. This blow dryer is also pretty quiet. I didn't feel like I was sitting inside of a clothes dryer while using it.
Conclusion
The Chi Rocket Hair Dryer is a keeper for me. I am so glad to come upon a blow dryer that comes with a pik attachment (that doesn't fly off while in use), dries my hair quickly, and leaves it soft and moisturized. This dryer is a great prep for flat ironing.
