Corkscrew Curls

Did you know that many African American women and other women with tightly curled hair is described as having Corkscrew curls? What a beautiful, interesting description of our crazy, super curly, sometimes frizzy hair!
What are some characteristics of Corkscrew Curls? According to Lorraine Massey of Curly Girl handbook fame, corkscrew curls are indicated by the following factors:
- Poodle Hair especially if the hair is cut too short.
- Lots and lots of individual curls.
- Hair that can be somewhat dry.
- Lots of frizz if not tamed.
- Dry skin/scalp.
- Curls that do not lie flat
- Hair that takes moisturizers like it can never get enough.
