Crazy Girl with Crazy Curls

by Jen
(United States)

Well, my hair has always been a bit of a challenge for me. I have extremely thick and curly hair. As a child, I always kept it long. Then, when I hit junior high, and just had to have a shoulder length bob like my classmates. So, after much coaxing, my Mother let me chop it off. Let’s just say after a some tears and a few days of not coming out of my room, I finally admitted that Mom was right! So, after that dreadful hair cut, I decided that I would never cut my hair again.

Fast forward fifteen some years later, and the bob is back in style. Now, I had come a long way with my straightening skills, and I became overly confident once I discovered Frizz-Ease Hair Serum that I could do any style that the other straight hair girls could do. So, once again, I chopped it off and added some layers. I had to straighten this style everyday with a scorching hot flat iron, but it look fresh and versatile And, it was great until the summer came and I had some humidity issues. My stylish ‘do became a pyramid of frizz. So, once again, I made the vow to never cut my hair about my shoulders again. Period.

Thus began the growing process. I started using shampoo plus conditioner (Pantene ProV) and a conditioner. Then I slathered on a leave in conditioner (Infusium23 spray) followed by Frizz-Ease serum (my miracle product that I use for any style…curly or straight!) I did deep conditioning treatments once a week, and I really loved good old VO5 hot oil. I used two tube, and left it on all night. This really did repair the damage I had done straightening it, and it helped me to avoid trims for split ends. I also wore my hair curly more, and straightened it only once a week to give it a break from the heat.

I also became pregnant at the time, and the prenatal vitamins really helped! I completely stopped highlighting my hair, and I did not color my hair at all. It actually blended pretty naturally, so it wasn’t terribly obvious. Experts say that on average, hair grows one inch per month. Mine was growing closer to two while I was pregnant. By the time the baby was born, and I got more compliments on my hair than I had ever gotten! Who would have thought, my natural color and texture were actually the best on me! With a little patience and mega-TLC, my hair is back to it’s long, beautiful self.
