Detangle with wide teeth combs.

Hello, my hairdresser insists on using a very fine comb with tiny teeth on my hair when it is wet. She uses this comb on my wet hair to detangle it. However, I am noticing breakage and a thinner head of hair. I am upset! Should she be using a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair? Afterwards, should she use a comb with small teeth to remove fine tangles?
