Dry ends

I have natural hair. When i straighten it, after 2 days the ends feel stiff and dry. It is the winter and I can deep condition a little more but I was wondering what light moisturizers I could use that will not revert my hair. I tried serums, grease and water.

I have not mastered the rollerset yet so I still flat iron my hair and I find myself touching up the ends on day 2 and so forth because it feels rough. I realize this is bad for my hair so if I found some thing that keeps the ends soft thru the 1-2 weeks I wear straight hair would be great. My hair loves water based moisture but I can't use due to reversion.

Trim and Moisture

Hi Keiko,

The first thing I'm going to suggest is that you get a nice trim. You may need to trim at least an inch to get rid of the dry, damaged ends. This way, you can start fresh. You may notice an improvement immediately.

Never touch up your hair in between flat ironing. What you're doing is creating a vicious cycle that is harming your hair.

A couple of suggestions on end treatments. Try jojoba oil or serum. Then 2-3 times a week, use a creamy moisturizer like CD Hair Milk (just a tad) on the ends and then seal it with the serum or oil. Immediately roll the end up so that it does not revert. In the morning, your ends will be soft and moisturized.
