Natural Hot Oil Treatment
Natural hot oil treatments can really work well for black and curly textures. Take a look in your pantry and see what type of oil you might have.
Good oils for a hot oil treatment are:
- Olive oil
- Jojoba oil
- Grapeseed oil
- Emu oil
- Castor oil
- Coconut oil
- Vatika hair oil
You can do a hot oil treatment on wet hair or dry hair. Hot oil treatment work really well to help control frizz and define curly hair if used regularly. Take the oil and apply to your hair thoroughly. Put on a plastic cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse completely with warm water and proceed to shampoo. These treatments will help your hair, scalp, and even help with dandruff.
Homemade Mayonnaise Treatment

Use regular full-fat mayonnaise and use it just like a jar of conditioner. Take as much as you need to cover all of your hair thoroughly. You can do this on wet hair or dry hair. After your hair is completely saturated, put on a plastic cap and let it penetrate for 30 minutes or so. When time is up, make sure to completely rinse your hair with warm water.
Egg Home Remedy for Dry Hair
You can also use egges to help restore moisture to dry damaged hair. Mix eggs and olive together for a homemade treatment. Use 2-3 eggs and a few tablespoons of olive oil to get a good thick consistency that will stay on your hair. Apply to your dry hair and massage in completely. Use the plastic cap and let it sit on your head for 30 minutes or so. Again, rinse with warm water - not hot, you don't want the eggs to cook!
