Frizzy Hair Care Tips

Frizzy hair care tips are very similar to tips for treating dry hair and damaged hair.  Let’s have a look at some things you should keep in mind when caring for your frizzy hair.

Frizzy Hair Remedies

If you do use a hair dryer to blow dry your hair straight or even just to diffuse, remember to use the cool shot button.  What’s the purpose of this little button? This little button will give a shot of cool h air to your hair that will help close the cuticle.

When the cuticle is closed, that means it’s not lifted up giving the frizzy effect.  Having closed cuticles will also give your hair more shine. Remember to always use the lowest heat setting and use the cool shot to finish.

Never towel-dry your hair.  Gently wring it out with your hands and use a microfiber towel.

Regular cotton towels will rob your hair of moisture and lead to tremendous frizz.  All of that rubbing and friction will lift up your hair’s cuticles and make it difficult to lay them back down no matter how  much styling and styling products you use afterwards.

Remember to keep your ends trimmed on a regular basis.  I am sure you have noticed someone who’s hair looked frizzy and when you got close to it, you could see tons and tons of split ends.

Split ends are basically the hair’s cuticle split.  This will always lead to a frizzy look unless you use products to temporarily put the split back together like a heavy serum.  It’s best to trim off the damaged ends though because otherwise, the split will just continue to get longer and longer and you’ll just have to trim off more and more if you ever want healthy hair.

Control Frizzy Hair in the Weather

A few things we can’t help lead to frizzy hair like humidity and rain.  We can experience humidity outdoors with the weather or even indoors with the steam or mist coming from the shower.

The best thing you can do in both situations is to keep your hair up and avoid having it come in contact with the elements – essentially the droplets of water in the air.  I will usually wear a nice, secure bun when it’s humid or raining outside.

At home, in the shower, I also wear a scarf and a shower cap and do not run the shower too hot.  Another tip is to keep the fan on in your bathroom while showering.

If you implement these frizzy hair care tips, I promise that your days of frizz will soon be over!
