Growing African American Hair

What is the best deep conditioner for growing African American hair?
"I know that all African American hair is not the same so here is what my hair is like. Lately, my hair has been breaking off substantially due to relaxing too often. My hair texture is very thin. My scalp is extremely dry. And my roots are really kinky. I am wanting to know what I can use to help my hair to become stronger. And easier to comb through. Are there any good deep conditioners out there that can help me?
Well, it definitely sounds like your hair could benefit from deep moisturizing as well as some gentle protein to keep it nice and strong.
There are two products that I recommend to you:
- Nexxus Humectress
- ORS Hair Mayo
Nexuss Humectress will provide moisture and ORS Hair Mayonnaise will provide strength to your hair.
I recommend deep conditioning your hair with the Humectress weekly. You’ll want to apply it after squeezing out the water from your hair in order for it to penetrate well. Then, put on a plastic cap and sit under a hooded dryer for 15-20 minutes.
Every other week, you’re going to use the ORS Hair Mayo to deep condition in exactly the same way. However, once you finish deep conditioning with rinsing out the ORS Hair Mayo, you’re going to add Humectress and sit back under the dryer for another 5 minutes.
Continue this regimen regularly and you should soon notice that your hair is more moisturized, easier to comb, and will have less breakage.
Now, about relaxing too often. Don’t do it. When relaxing too often, you are probably overlapping the relaxer resulting in overprocessed weakened hair strands. Try to relax your hair only once every 8 weeks. If you wash your hair weekly, you should not get excessive tangles at the roots. Try roller setting your hair to keep it from direct heat. Flat iron your roots as necessary.
