Hair Care Myths

I am sure you have heard or even found yourself saying some of these hair care myths. I am right there with you! I have used my share of the following myths but now I know better. I am providing this list for anyone who is curious about some of the things they commonly hear about hair care.

- Salon products have more concentrated ingredients.
- Drugstore products are not as good as salon products.
- Silicone is not good for your hair.
- Damaged hair can be completely repaired.
- Relaxing hair causes cancer.
- Dyeing hair causes cancer.
- You should alternate shampoos and conditioners to increase their effectiveness.
- You should always shampoo twice to make sure it's effective.
- Lots of lather determines how clean the hair is getting.
- If you have a sensitive scalp, you should use baby shampoo since they are gentle.
- Everyone should brush their hair at least 100 times every night before bed.
- Mixing products from different product lines is never a good idea.
- Salon products contain better ingredients than drugstore products.
- Hair grows faster when it's dirty.
- Hair looks better when it is dirty.
- Wearing braids will make your hair grow faster.
- Hair grows if you grease your scalp.
- Sea Breeze will keep your hair clean when wearing braids.
- All shampoos and conditioners are the same.
- Some dandruff is considered growing dandruff.
