Hair type ( not sure?!)

I have semi curly wavy hair. I don't know my hair type which in my opinion is my monthly challenge. I'm Latina (both parents are from the Dominican republic) and my hair has been relaxed in the past. I dye my hair on a need by basis. I would like to know what's the easiest way to find out my hair type and key products to maintain & grow my hair.
