Hairspray fuelled the problem!

I was lighting some candles to set a nice mood for an evening meal with friends. I bent over a table full of them to light ones further back on the table as it was against the wall. I'd styled my hair with hairspray for volume and thickness, but the flames from the candles were the first to notice! I smelt a strange burning smell and looked up to find my fringe on fire!

Not only did I have a short fringe, but the hairspray doubled the fire so it burnt extra fast and extra hot. I had to slap myself in the face to pat out the fire while my friends threw (empty) cups of water at me!

Thankfully my fringe has grown out, but I was left with a choppy, short, sticking-out fringe for a good few months. The hair that grew from there initially was very coarse and dry, but after cutting it regularly the old hair grew out and new hair formed. I've learnt my lesson with candles, now. for sure!
