How to Get Shiny Hair

how-to-get-shiny-hair

Are you here to learn how to get shiny hair?  Well, one of the most common frustrations among women about their hair is that it looks dull.  No one wants dull-looking hair!  We are always searching for the secret to shiny hair.    This article will give you a few tried and tested ideas to get shiny hair.

Your Brush

When you brush your hair, make sure to use a boar's bristle brush.  Brushes that are synthetic,  plastic or nylon will rip through your hair.  While a boar's bristle brush will add shine by helping to redistribute the natural oils that your hair produces or oil that you add to your hair..

How to Get Shiny Hair with Water

After shampooing and conditioning your hair, do a final rinse with cool water.  Actually, when rinsing out the conditioner, rinse it will cool water.  This will help keep more conditioner within the strands of your hair as well as closing your cuticle layer which helps your hair reflect light and produce shine.

Using the cool setting on a blow dryer will also give a similar effect.  Ever notice the "cool shot" button on your blow dryer?  Once you finish blow drying your hair, follow it up with the cool shot to close your cuticles.

How to Get Shiny Hair with Silicones

Silicones are especially great for providing shine to the hair.  Silicones can be found in shampoos as well as serums.  Many shampoos that say things like "smooth and shiny" are using silicones to help with the shiny hair.  Serums are a great way to add shine to hair that has already been dried.  You can find serums in spray form or in liquid form.  These products lay on top of your hair to flatten the cutible bringing out great shine.  Silicones also act as a barrier between your hair and heat.  So using silicones and heat will give you silky, shiny and less heat-damaged hair.

Deep Conditioning

Deep Conditioning your hair will infuse moisture into your hair.  As you know, dry hair does not shine!  If you have dry hair and it seems that it just soaks up oil and any other kind of moisturizer, then you should start deep conditioning your hair regularly.  Most importantly deep condition with heat.  The heat will help open the cuticle and implant the nutrients from the conditioner into the strands of your hair. This will make it easier for your hair to shine more naturally.

Conclusion

I hope this article has given you some great ideas on how to get shiny hair.  My favorite method is....well, ALL of them!  Don't forget to eat a healthy diet rich in Omega 3's like plenty of fish!  Or you can also try an Omega 3 supplement.
