How to Grow Black Hair with Regular Maintenance
You can learn how to grow black hair with the regular maintenance that I've outlined in the simple steps below.
Bed Time Care
If you’re sleeping without covering your head at night, you need to think about what you’re doing to your hair. Let me tell you, it is not good! First of all, if your pillowcase is cotton, you are basically allowing the cotton fibers to rub all over your hair at night and literally suck out any moisture that it has. Sucking out the moisture leads to dryness and split ends. Get a satin scarf and use it regularly every single night. If you don’t sleep well with a satin scarf, then try a satin pillowcase and wearing your hair pinned up.
You’ll want to make sure to have several night-time accessories available to you such as several satin sleeping caps, several satin scarves and one or two satin pillow cases. This way, you can keep them in different areas of your hair in case you take a nap on the couch or if you’re travelling you can always tuck and extra pillowcase in your bag.

How to Grow Black Hair with Scalp Care
Depending on the level of dryness your scalp experiences, you may want to take a light oil like jojoba or grapeseed and apply it to your scalp after conditioning before styling. You may also need to do this in between styling. Remember to keep a light hand to avoid greasy hair.
If you work out and sweat a lot, you’ll want to make sure that you’re keeping your hair and scalp clean. You’ll probably need to even wash (or condition wash) more than once a week to avoid a scalp odor as well as a scalp itch.
To increase circulation in your scalp, massage your scalp daily. This can easily be done every night when you get your hair ready for bed. Take a drop of jojoba oil even an essential oil like rosemary (which enhances hair growth), put some on your fingers and then lightly massage your scalp. You’ll enhance your hair growth and get some oil to your scalp if it is dry.
Nutrition
Eat according to the food pyramid. Try not to eliminate any food groups and if you do, make sure to take vitamins to ensure that you are getting the proper nutrients for your body. If you are not healthy, you will notice it immediately in your hair.
How to Grow Black Hair by Watching Ingredients
Watch the ingredients that you use. Look out for products with natural ingredients which is easy if you just use a natural product line. If not, just make sure to check the ingredients. Avoid mineral oil at all costs.
When buying products, especially styling products, look for products that do not contain alcohol, particularly sd-40 alcohol which can be very drying to hair. You will typically see this product in hair sprays but you should look out for it in gels and serums. You can easily find gels and serums without alcohol.
I hope you now have some better ideas on how to grow black hair with regular maintenance. Don't delay getting started. Just take one and begin and gradually add on another. Soon, you'll have the long, healthy hair that you desire.
