How To Manage Naturally Curly Hair In The Shower

by Adam Villalobos

This tip explains how to maintain a natural curl for people who have short to medium length natural curls. When in the shower, lather up your hair completely with a shampoo of your choosing.

When it's time for you to rinse, bend down at the waist so that your hair is hanging down as much as possible. Let the water wash down your hair and comb your fingers down in the direction of the water so that you pull your hair gently down and out. Don't overdo it by brushing through your hair too much. Do it just enough until your hair is totally rinsed of shampoo.

While still in this bent over position, give your hair several good shakes from side to side and back. Stand upright and out of the shower spray. Give your hair light shakes from side to side and front to back. This will give your curls volume without adding any extra chemicals.

When drying, simply press a towel against your hair put do not rub your hair dry. Let the towel soak up as much water as possible. Finally, let your curls simply air dry. Remember, this tip only works if you have natural curly hair. Don't take a perm into the shower and do this!
