I Burn No More
by Michelle

My scalp used to burn so bad during a relaxer retouch that my hair would stick to my scalp. My scalp would ooze clear liquid and looked and felt wet for a good week.
I started growing an aloe plant, broke off a leaf then applied the sap to my burns. They healed faster, the scabs came off in large pieces that I could comb or hand-pick out of my hair.
Now, I don't burn at all. A few days before my retouch, I make sure I drink 8 glasses of water a day(a dry scalp will absorb the cream-ouch!), no shampooing for at least 3 days, and in the beginning, I took an anti-histamine in order to reduce my body's reaction.
The result: less burning to no burning(I've used lye or no-lye relaxers).
My stylist worked with me until we found a solution. I stayed with her even when she changed shops and it paid off.
