Thinning Hair Solutions
by: Nina, Editor LHHA

Hi Valencia,

I am sorry to hear of your hair woes.

Since you are using several chemicals in your hair, I'll address those first. How often are you getting a perm in your hair? Is the solution being put around your edges? Try not applying the perm solution to your edges for a few months and see if that helps.

Also, with the coloring, I am sure that you most likely have grey around the edges. Unfortunately to see if you can get a handle on this thinning issue, you may need to stop the coloring for a period of time.

In the meantime, make sure you are deep conditioning your hair regularly and that it does not get dry. At night, I want you to sleep with a satin scarf on or at least on a satin pillowcase. This will help protect your edges from the cotton. It is also winter so make sure that you are not wearing any wool hats.

A few other things to try to stimulate growth in this area is to get some rosemary essential oil and mix a few drops into some jojoba oil and massage it into your scalp 1 or 2x a day. Make sure you are not wearing your ponytails too tightly, also.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to post a comment if you have additional questions.
