I feel a little relieved

by Lesson learned

Umm, Hi, I am 18 yrs old now and I have texturised my hair twice. The first texturiser was okay and it had started growing out

But then I went ahead and texturised my hair for the second time and I later found out (3 months later) that it had overlapped my first texturiser.

I am now experiencing breaking and I have become so scared of losing my hair. I feel as though I will have to cut it off, it is a huge possibility. But I am scared. I never realised how sensitive I was about my hair before, until now. I can truthfully say that I used to have beautiful afro hair, but now I feel as though I am at a point of no hope.

I have read all the helpful and useful tips on this website and I am grateful I stumbled across it - thanks to browsing on google.

I read that you can cut your hair off and start again - that it does grow back, however I started to read another page and it got me thinking that if I did cut my hair, it would be cut down to my first texturiser and then I have to wait for that to grow out. But will it grow back healthy? Does it grow out then grow again? Im probably answering my own questions but I feel as though I need to be reassured. Would I be better off cutting it and starting again? Or leaving it as it and just expect it to break before it grows again? I am so stuck and helpless.

I understand that the whole process will take time and I have to be patient - I guess that comes with me learning my lesson - in crazily trying to fix something that wasn't broken.

It seems as though it is only know that I am starting to the ask questions - after the damage is done - literally.

Hair Always Grows
by: Nina D, Editor LHHA

Your hair doesn't stop growing because you cut it. So, yes, if you cut it once and then twice, it will still grow back. Just do what you need to do and what you feel comfortable with in order to get your hair where you want it to be. Good luck!
