How to Keep Hair Healthy

Once you've finally nursed your hair back to health you probably wonder how to keep hair healthy.  There are a few things that you should be focused on.  Conditioning is an important element to keep your healthy.  It's also important to get rid of scraggly ends by trimming.  Also, you should make sure you're taking care of your hair at bedtime and throughout the day.

Conditioning

Using leave-in conditioners, rinse out conditioners, and deep conditioners are all important to keep hair healthy.  Moisturizing conditioners are the most important kind to use.  Your leave-in conditioner should have moisturizing elements but it should not weigh down your hair.  Your deep conditioning regimen should consist of moisturizing deep conditioners and protein deep conditioners.  Moisturizing conditioners will keep your hair soft and supple.  Protein conditioners will keep your hair strong and help damaged hair become stronger.

Trimming

Keeping your ends healthy is a major part of keeping hair healthy.  If your ends are broken off, uneven, dry, and/or split, your hair is not healthy looking and in most cases, is simply not healthy.  Never hang on to a few strands of hair just to have long hair.  The name of this site is Long Healthy Hair Advisor - I believe in long HEALTHY hair...not just long hair.  This may or may not be your philosophy.  And if it is not, then trimming may not be something that you need to do.

Bed Time Care

Bed time is one of the best time to treat your hair from what it's been through during that day.  Before you go to bed, make sure to detangle your hair thoroughly.  Add a little serum or oil to your ends. Then wrap or roll your hair or even put it in a bun.  But remember to add a silk or satin scarf to keep your hair from getting dry from cotton pillowcases as well as ruining your look for the next day.

Daytime Care

In order to keep hair healthy, you should give some attention to your hair throughout the day.  For example, if you go outside and it's super windy and cold, make sure to put your hair up.  Always carry around a scrunchy, some hair pins, a clip and a scarf.  You never know when you might need it.  Harsh elements from the environment can definitely wreck havoc on your hair.

Beginning your journey to keep hair healthy really isn't all that difficult.  Keep a simple hair care regimen.  Don't slack on conditioning and trimming.  And pay attention to your hair on a daily and nightly basis.
