Mango Butter

by aenflex
(FL)

This may not be the best for everyone, but my hair has never been better since I started using Mango butter in my routine. I am Caucasian, my hair is slightly coarse, with some natural waves, leaning on the dry side, but not damaged per se. I don't have split ends or fried pieces, as I dont use heat or manipulate my hair much. But it does tend to be dry, frizzy and slightly coarse.

I've used Grapeseed oil, Jojobad, Coconut, Camellia, Almond and aloe, to name a few. They all had positive effects for my hair and sclap, but nothing tames and smooths my hair like Mango butter.

I never put it on wet hair - not recommended! But after my hair is dry, I just grab a little chunk, rub it together in my hands until it melts, and distribute it evenly with my hands, concentrating on the ends, but I also get pretty close to the crown. The trick is to only use a teeny bit at a time, and don't put on too much. Mango butter takes a few mins for it's full effect to become obvious, and a little goes a long way.

My hair is soft, it's laying flat and the ends are in good shape! I also use cones, in case anyone was wondering...Mango butter reacts well with cones in my hair!
