Massaging Your Scalp
Did you know that scalp massages can improve circulation and lead to optimal hair growth?
One of the best times to massage your scalp is when you shampoo and condition your hair. During a normal shampoo, wait until your hair has been cleansed on the 2nd cleansing, gently massage your scalp in a circular motion.
You can also do scalp massages on dry hair. If you're doing it on dry hair, you want to use an oil. This is a wonderful time to add in aromatherapy into your hair routine.
To make a hair massage oil, take a light oil like jojoba oil or grapeseed oil and mix in a few drops of a lovely scented essential oil like lavender.
You can also add an essential oil that will make your scalp tingle - it feels wonderful and is known to assist in hair growth. A few you can try are peppermint and rosemary.
Get a little of the massage oil on your fingertips and put them to your scalp and massage your scalp in a circular motion. Do this all over - each time getting additional massage oil. Don't use too much because you don't want to make your hair greasy.
Although, many people tend to do scalp massages before they shampoo. In this case, it can help loosen dirt, dandruff, and styling products. Just remember to not use your fingernails which can scratch and tear your scalp.
