My Hair is Growing Back - The Gallery
Finally, I finished transitioning and my hair is growing back. As you can see from the pictures, I made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and then progress seemed to slow down. That is because I have become a little too scissor happy and heat happy. I have now revamped my regimen to include as little heat as possible so that I can reach my hair length goals.

October 2008 I wore my hair curly all summer and it's been back to straight for about 4 weeks. I've probably trimmed off 2 inches over the past 4 weeks and this is what's left. |
May 2009 Here I did my regular rollerset and flat iron. I also trimmed my hair. |
June 2009 Hair was curled using a ceramic Jilbere curling iron to create the spiral curls. |

My Current Hair Regimen
-
Shampoo and Condition weekly - my current products for this are Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo and Conditioner.
-
Protein Treatment with ORS Hair Mayo once a month. I apply this on dry hair and heat steam with a hot towel and a plastic cap prior to shampooing
-
Every other week, I deep condition with the same condition I use for conditioning
-
I then prepare my hair for rollersetting (using my regular method you can find by clicking here) always using the following in this order: (1) Salerm 21, (2) Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, (3) Serum.
-
Rollerset on medium (green) and large mesh rollers (burgundy) using a mixture of Water, Mizani Setting Lotion, a drop of Salerm 21, and a few drops of Serum.
-
Sit under my Pibbs Quik dryer for 1.5 hours on Medium Heat. Let cool and take down rollers. I LOVE my Pibbs. Any other dryer and it would take my hair 3 hours to dry!
-
Add a drop of serum to each side. Flat iron on 320 degrees using one swipe.
-
At night, I add Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey to my ends section by section. Put my hair in a high ponytail with a satin scrunchy. Twirl my hair around it in a bun and pin it. Then put on my silk/satin scarf.
-
In the morning, I take it down and maybe every other day, I'll apply a tiny bit of serum for shine.
-
Every 2-3 months, I trim my own hair using methods you can find by clciking here.
-
That's all folks!

Gorgeous and love the length. Are you still growing or are you now maintaining at a particular length?

Nina's comments: Thank you! Yes, I ...
June 2009 pic Your hair looks fabulous! Plus, your site turned me on to hard, mesh rollers almost a year ago (I'm pretty sure it was your site), so THANKS FOR THAT!...
