My hair's a mess!

by muffy
(new york, united states)

I have started to "transition" my hair for about 5-6 months now...it is going along well but my ends are very puffy and uneven I guess from the perm...I haven`t trimmed my hair since my last perm...and also I had previously bleached my hair last summer and the places where the bleach is, is very thin and dull looking. I need help! BUT my new growth is beautiful and I love it! I also wash my hair everyday sometimes when I want the natural look, would that have anything to do with my end puffing up?? Please help me!

Time for a Trim?
by: Nina, Editor Long-Healtly-Hair-Advisor

Hi there Muffy,

I would suggest getting a trim since it's been 5-6 months and you could have damage from the bleaching. During your transition, it's important to trim the relaxed ends regularly to keep your hair from tangling and to get rid of the bad ends.

The conditioner washing should be fine.
