My texturized hair breaks off

I have a texurizer in my kinky african american hair. When my new growth grows in, my texturized (which seems permed because it stays straight)hair breaks off. BAD, but only in the back/middle of my head. Its short. Reeaal short, new growth only and the Front is full, healthy and a nice length. What do I do??

Hello,

With a texturizer as well as a relaxer, you need to be careful and treat your new growth properly. Hair is prone to breakage at the line of demarcation - where the texturized/relaxed hair meets newly grown hair.

My suggestion to you is that once you start to notice new hair growing in, moisturize it. I'd recommend a creamy moisturizer like Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter or Hair Milk. ORS also makes a very nice Hair Lotion.
