NATURAL HAIR AND THE GYM

by Rhinesca
(Passaic NJ )

I have regular curly hair that is not relaxed, I go to the Dominican Salon and get it straightened weekly but when I go to the gym my hair gets really nappy and curly is there a way to keep my hair straight I wrap it up in a pony tail and then bobby pin the ends into a roller form, and put a cotton head scarf on what can I do. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

High Ponytail

Hi Rhinesca,

I am not sure how much you are sweating during your workout but if you're sweating a LOT, you may not be able to "save" your hair and will have to wash it daily.

If you're only moderately sweating, here are my suggestions:

*Put your hair into a high ponytail snugly and wrap the length around the ponytail - like a bun.
*Do not put a scarf on or you will just sweat more b/c you are not getting any air.
*You can try wearing a satin headband to capture the sweat.
*Once your workout is over, do not touch your hair. Let your scalp dry. This will keep you from moving any wetness around your hair and having it curl up.

Good Luck!
