Natural Hair Care Regimen - Curly Hair
Summer is the perfect time to follow a natural hair care regimen. Embrace your natural curls and forget worrying about hair reversion. Still, you want to make sure that you are following steps to keep your hair healthy all year long. Below, I have a sample natural hair care regimen that I actually follow myself for keeping curls in the best shape all year long.
Here is a typical regimen that you can follow:
Daily
Wash your hair with a light conditioner every day. When using the conditioner, make sure to totally saturate your hair. Then comb through with a shower comb.
If you have difficulty combing through your curls, trying combing through as your hair is under the shower head. The flow will help detangle your hair.
Always wash your air at the beginning of your shower. Then pin your hair up to finish your shower. This will give the conditioner a chance to penetrate your hair and provide extra conditioning and softness. Please be gentle when detangling your hair.
Always use a leave-in conditioner after rinsing out the regular conditioner. Then apply a moisturizer and/or styling product to define your curls.

Bi-Weekly
Shampoo your hair or use a treatment to clarify your hair such as baking soda. You don't want to dry out your hair and completely strip it as this will cause problems for your curls. Try to to use a very moisturizing shampoo even if it's take some time to rinse it out. It is much better for your curls.
Monthly or Every Other Month
Do a protein treatment and sit under a hooded dryer for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the conditioner to penetrate. Even though you're not using heat, your hair can still use the occasional protein to maintain its strength.
Nightly
Pin your hair up and put on a silk or satin bonnet or a silk scarf. In the least, use a satin pillow case. Curls can be very fragile and tangle easily. You want to avoid tangling as much as possible while sleeping.
Every 3-6 Months
Get your ends trimmed. I think it's best to trim hair when it's straight so get your hair blow dried at least and preferably flat ironed to get the best result. If you've been wearing your hair curly all 3-6 months, you shouldn't need a lot trimmed.
Generally, a lot of curly-haired women have problems with their ends because of knots. These can be just as frustrating as split ends. Either way, they must be trimmed. Don't let them get too bad. Go ahead and trim them on a regular basis. Read options on how to trim natural hair.
Conclusion
A natural hair care regimen for curly hair should be simple and easy to follow. I hope this sample regimen will be helpful to you.
