Question about wrapping after setting natural hair with curls!

by Nichole Bradley
(Chicago)

I was surprised to read that naturals should try wrapping the hair AFTER taking out the curls! I have to cure my skepticism and ask, does the hair stay curly even after wrapping and sitting under the dryer AGAIN???

Will curls stay?
by: Debra

I have natural hair and it is curly and frizzy but I notice that if I use a roller that is a medium size for my hair not too small but big enough to bump under it gets it pretty straight when I go to wrap it. But I have a hard time keeping my hair from falling out the sides of the rollers, any suggestions?

You need to put less hair on each roller if you're having that problem. Also make sure to roll very carefully. I sometimes I have this problem since my hair is long. Just roll from root to tip and at every roll, make sure the hair is in place. If it still doesn't work, you probably just have too much hair on the roller on your part is too wide.

Yep, it works

Hi Nichole,

You will still have some curls at the length! However, the rest will be a lot straighter. You may still have to flat iron your roots a bit, too. You won't need to roll your hair at all though. Just do a high ponytail or a high bun and you'll be set for the next week.
