Bumps on Scalp Caused by Acne
In general, there a lot of causes for scalp bumps being present in your head. These can be caused hair follicles that were clogged or scalp pimples. Aside from that, these bumps in your scalp can also have different appearances as well as colors. Despite these causes, the most common causes why there are bumps in your scalp would be scalp acne.
If you want to be sure of the cause of the scalp breakouts, you can consult a specialist or a dermatologist, in particular. Your dermatologist will examine your scalp and check for presence of infections.
Bumps felt in the scalp can also be caused by allergies. If the cause is allergic reaction, the bumps will subside after the allergy is already treated; however, it can also be very itchy and painful. And often if you will feel it, it can be warm. Bumps in the scalp caused by allergies can be easily treated and will be gone once the allergies subside. They can be tiny, white or yellow in color, possibly filled with pus just like a regular zit.
Women are prone to develop scalp acne because their glands tend to produce more oil. This is similar to facial acne, except that it has grown in the scalp. This can be annoyingly itchy and embarrassing especially in noticeable areas.
With the presence of pimples in your head brought about by acne, it will be harder for you to style your hair. Just like regular acne, the acne that grows in your scalp is also caused by bacteria. These bacteria grow inside the pores of your scalp and become trapped because of the clogged oil and dead skin skills. While the bacteria are growing, it can result in swollen and infected bumps.
Scalp bumps caused by acne can be treated by necessary lifestyle changes, just like how facial acne is treated. Begin by drinking plenty of water and eating healthy and nutritious foods. You should also avoid eating foods that can trigger acne such as potato chips, chocolate, and greasy foods.
