Shine Now...Cry Later

Well my story stems form the need to always have shiny hair. Well a while back I went and had my hair braided professionally. I had got cornrows with extensions added. Someone suggested I try a new oil sheen product. It wasn't the product I normally used but I figured I'd give it a try. Well I used it daily because this was the "suggested" use. I believe by the 3rd or 4th week I was ready to remove the extensions. As i started unbraiding my hair I noticed clumps were coming out I was hoping it was just shed hair. WRONG!!! My hair came out in so many clumps. I started crying, I cried for hours. I went from just above APL (arm pit length) to NL (neck length). I was pretty devastated because parts of my hair were thicker than others.
Needless to say to this day I still get nervous about using hair sheen.
