Should I texturize?

by sherri zhalie
(raleigh, nc)

I have been transitioning from a relaxer for 6 months. I am now at the place where I need to cut it off and sport a 2-3 in. twa( Not mentally there yet) or submit to relaxers again.

I desire to wear my hair curly, but also love straight hair. Would a texturizer do this for me?

Also, would it cause damage to have 3 different textures in my head when the texturizer starts to show new growth( ends-relaxed, texturizer in the middle, and new growth - natural). I would like to make a decision and stick to it. I am so undecided that I have put twists in my head so I won't do anything drastic... help please nina

Hi Sherri,

No, I would not suggest you get a texturizer during the process of your transition.

You need to talk to your stylist and let them know that you no longer want your hair relaxed bone straight. They will be able to give you the best advice.
