"Snatch Backing" can be very dangerous!

***This is not my horror story but a friend of mine.***
Well when I was in high school (about…uhhh… along time ago lol) those gelled up ponytails (ya know with the 12-18" weave draw-string ponytails) were the BUSINESS!!! lol Well one day I was over one of my friends house to stay the night and another one of our girlfriends came over to hang out. She had been wearing this ponytail style for like two months straight. I thought she was getting it done every few weeks or so (it always looked nice and smooth), but that was not the case!
It turns out that she was just rewetting the hair around her edges and sides and re-gelling/spritzing the hair down to make it look smooth and slick. She wasn't even taking the hair down out the snatch back ponytail it was pulled in to comb it, let alone wash and condition it for TWO WHOLE MONTHS!!!!!
She asked me to help her wash her hair and to take the ponytail out. When we did finally take that drawstring ponytail off I was shocked! I knew right then and there she was about to have some problems. She started crying really bad it was awful! I asked her why didn't she take it down, wash/condition and detangle her hair. She just shrugged her shoulders. I mean there were two months worth of spritz buildup that had just fused all the hair together. GROSSSSS!
We put water, shampoo and conditioner on it and it was still hard as a brick. We went through 1 bottle of shampoo and 2 bottle bottles of conditioner. She was so frustrated that she started detangling/ripping her hair out with a small tail comb. I curled up in a corner during that time and covered my ears. You could hear the hair popping and snapping. It creeped me out to bad! When she was done she literally had a volleyball sized amount of hair that had come out.
I guess this really didn't faze her after all that crying and work because she washed that drawstring ponytail and gelled/spritzed her hair back into that same style. *shakes head*
That whole night my other friend was using her hair as a basketball. Dunking it into a paper trash can. It was funny and sad at the same time. LOL!
