Thank you God for the Side Ponytail

In high school, I wore my hair natural, and would press it every two weeks for a different look. Now, when I say press, I was using a hot oven with a pressing comb and lots of Dax. One weekend I spent the night at a friend's house and decided to press my hair. Since my trusty hot oven decided to stop working, my friend suggested that I use her electric hot comb. I adjusted the temperature to 20, which was the maximum, and we decided to eat breakfast while the hot comb heated.

After breakfast, I decided to start my hair. Without hesitation I parted the first section, on the front right side, and as soon as I put the iron to the root of my hair I noticed my hair turning a blonde color. As a proceeded to run the comb through my hair, I noticed that my hair was moving with the comb. At that point I realized I scorched my hair. The entire section-about 2 inches- of my hair was bald and all I could do was thank God for the invention of the side pony tail.
