Two Years Strong!

by Sharon
(Alvin, Texas)

I've been using Wen for two years now. I'll never go back to shampooing all the time. Never.

I remember vividly like it was yesterday the first time I used it. I was amazed! I was going to my friend's son's birthday party that evening and I just remember touching my hair and doing the "flip" all night. It was two years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday. I still love to just feel it and run my hands through it. My husband loves to feel it, too. ;-)

If I may speak to the few, only a few, negative reviews I've found, I'll add in my tips and observations along the way.

Your hair looks dirty? You might not be rinsing before applying long enough or rinsing to get it out long enough at the end. Still yet, you might not be leaving it in long enough. Your hair must be saturated completely before applying. And you must completely rinse it out as well. As far as the leave-in amount, only use 1 or 2 pumps, 1 for shorter hair, 2 for longer, thicker hair. Overdoing that part might be resulting in a heavy feeling.

40 pumps!?!? I've found that I never have to use near that much. I have medium length fine hair, so I can get great results with 12-16. That sounds like a lot to people who haven't seen the pump work, but it's really not as much as you think. Once it's all in my hand, the amount is the same as the amount of shampoo I would have had in my hand. Also, if you're using that much on medium to long hair, you might not be getting all the product rinsed out, which might result in that dirty hair look. Chaz says the more you use, the better the results, which is true, but you do have to rinse well.

The price?!?! I know it sounds like a lot, but do the math. $30 per month. In my case, I only have to cleanse my hair every 2 to 3 days now versus everyday if I shampoo. So, what are my savings? Before, I'd buy shampoo, conditioner, mousse or gel, detangler, and hair spray at least twice monthly. I no longer need those things, not even the hair spray. And I'd buy some of the best things Wal-Mart had to offer so that's at least double the $30. Sometimes, when I'm trying to make it last a little longer, I'll do the shampoo thing, and just use a couple of pumps for a leave-in. It still looks and feels great! And I still go 2 to 3 days without cleansing.

Three things hooked me almost instantly; my reaction to the look and feel, the compliments I was getting (the one I remember vividly was after 2 days of not cleansing), and the fact that I don't have to cleanse everyday and there's practically no difference between the first day and the third day. When I say hooked, my husband can tell you what that means. After about 2 months of using Wen, I told him this was going to be a life-long commitment, the life of Wen anyway, and not to expect that monthly bill to stop. He didn't give me any lip about it. He knew I loved it and I think he loved what it did for me. I can say it didn't just make a difference in my hair, it made a difference in my attitude and confidence.
