My roommate once told me every time I wash my hair each week, I'm washing out the relaxer. I just wanted to know if that was true or not. Thanks!

I do believe that washing your hair frequently removes the effects of a relaxer...After some weeks, the relaxed hair is never as straight as it was, when it was freshly done.

Hello,

Your roommate is wrong and this is a myth. You cannot "wash" a relaxer out of your hair. A relaxer is permanent and can only be "removed" by cutting it out of your hair to the new growth area.
